I went to the movie theater the other day and in the front row was an old man and with him was his dachshund.
It was a sad, funny kind of film. In the sad part, the dachshund cried his eyes out, and in the funny part, the dachshund laughed its head off.
This happened all the way through the film.
After the film had ended, I decided to go and speak to the man.
"That's the most amazing thing I've seen," I said. "That dachshund really seemed to enjoy the film."
The man turned to me and said, "Yeah, it is. He hated the book."
요전 날 나는 극장에 갔는데 앞줄에 한 노인이 닥스훈트와 같이 있었다.
그건 울고 웃기는 종류의 영화였다. 슬픈 대목에서 그 닥스훈트는 눈이 붓도록 울었고, 재미있는 대목에서는 자지러지게 웃었다.
이런 일이 영화가 상영되는 동안 계속 일어났다.
영화가 끝난 후, 나는 그 사람에게 가서 말해보기로 하였다.
"거참 이제껏 볼 수 없었던 놀라운 일입니다," 하고 내가 말했다, "저 닥스훈트는 정말 영화를 즐기고 있는 것 같아요."
그 사람이 나를 돌아보고 말했다, "예, 그렇습니다, 저 개는 책은 싫어합니다."
