The kids filed back into class monday morning. they were very excited.
Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.
Little Mary led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "my sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
"Very good," said the teacher.
Little Sally was next: "I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them abreast of current events."
"Very good, Sally," said the teacher.
Eventually, it was little Johnny's turn.
Little johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk.
"$2,467," he said.
"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "what in the world was you selling?"
"Tooth brushes," said little Johnny.
"Tooth brushes," echoed the teacher, "how could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"
"I found the busiest corner in town," said little Johnny, "I set up a dip and chip stand. I gave everybody who walked by a sample. they all said the same thing. "Hey, this tastes like shit!" then I would say, "it is shit, wanna buy a toothbrush?"

"샐리, 참 잘했어,"라고 선생님이 말했다.
드디어 리틀 자니의 차례가 되었다.
리틀 자니가 교실 앞으로 걸어가서 선생님 책상위에 현금이 가득 담긴 상자를 올려 놓았다.
리틀 자니가 말했다, "2,467달러입니다."
선생님이 소리쳤다, "2,467달러라고! 도대체 넌 뭘 팔았기에?"
"칫솔입니다." 하고 리틀 자니가 말했다.
"칫솔이라고?" 선생님이 따라 말했다, "어떻게 했길래 칫솔을 팔아서 그렇게 많은 돈을 벌었나?"
리틀 자니가 말했다, "저는 동네에서 제일 복잡한 코너를 찾아 '딥앤칩'(감자칩과 소스가 함께 제공됨) 판매대를 세웠습니다. 저는 지나가는 모든 사람들에게 샘플 하나씩을 주었습니다. 그들은 모두 똑 같은 말을 하였습니다. "야, 이거 똥맛이네!" 그러면 제가 이렇게 말했습니다, "그거 똥입니다. 칫솔 하나 사시겠어요?"
