While walking through the park, a man came upon another man hugging a tree with his ear firmly against the tree.
Seeing this he inquired, "Just out of curiosity, what the heck are you doing?"
"I'm listening to the music of the tree," the other man replied.
"You've gotta be kiddin' me."
"No, would you like to give it a try?"
Understandably curious, the man says, "Well, OK..."
So he wrapped his arms around the tree and pressed his ear up against it. With this, the other guy slapped a pair of handcuffs on him, took his wallet, jewellry, car keys, then stripped him naked and left.
Two hours later another nature lover strolled by, saw this guy handcuffed to the tree stark naked, and asked, "What the heck happened to you?"
He told the guy the whole terrible story about how he got there.
When he finished telling his story, the other guy shook his head in sympathy, walked around behind him, kissed him gently behind the ear and said, "This just ain't gonna be your day, cupcake..."
한 남자가 공원을 걷고 있다가, 어떤 남자가 나무를 끌어안고 자기의 귀를 나무에 밀착시키고 있는 걸 우연히 보았다.
이걸 보고 그 남자가 물었다, "그냥 호기심에서 그러는데, 당신은 도대체 뭘 하십니까?"
"나는 나무에서 나는 음악 소리에 귀를 기울이고 있습니다," 하고 다른 남자가 대답하였다.
"당신이 날 놀리고 있군요."
"아닙니다, 당신도 한번 해 보시겠습니까?"
당연히 궁금해진 그 남자가 말했다, "음, 좋아요..."
그래서 그는 자기 팔로 나무를 감싸고 귀를 나무에 바짝 붙였다. 이렇게 되자, 다른 남자가 그 사람의 손에 수갑을 철컥 채우고, 그의 지갑과 보석, 자동차 키를 꺼냈다, 그러고 나서 그를 발가벗기고 떠났다.
두 시간 뒤 또 다른 자연 찬미자가 산책하며 지나가다가 이 남자가 나무에 발가벗긴 채로 수갑 채워진 걸 보고 물었다, "도대체 당신에게 무슨 일이 일어났나요?"
그는 그 남자에게 그가 어떻게 그렇게 되었는지에 대한 끔찍한 이야기를 모두 알려 주었다.
그가 자기의 겪은 이야기를 모두 끝냈을 때, 그 다른 남자는 동정심에서 머리를 흔들더니, 그 사람 뒤로 돌아가서, 귀 뒤를 가볍게 키스하고 말했다, "오늘 당신은 재수 없는 날이야, 껴안고 싶은 생각이.... "
