One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, everyone in tiny Smithville wakes up early and goes to their local church. Before the service starts, the townspeople sit in their pews and talk about their lives, their families, etc.
Suddenly, at the altar, Satan appears!! Everyone starts screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in their determined efforts to get away from Evil Incarnate.
Soon, everyone is evacuated from the church except for one man, who sit calmly in his pew, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy is in his presence. This confuses Satan a bit.
Satan walks up to the man and says, "Hey, don't you know who I am?"
The man says, "Yep, sure do."
Satan says, "Well, aren't you afraid of me?"
The man says, "Nope, sure ain't."
Satan, perturbed, says, "And why aren't you afraid of me?"
"Well, I've been married to your sister for 25 years."
어느 화창한 일요일 아침, 조그만 스미스빌에 사는 사람들은 모두가 일찍 일어나서 동네 교회에 갔다. 예배가 시작되기 전, 동네 사람들이 신도석에 앉아서 그들의 생활과, 그들의 가족 등에 대하여 이야기하고 있었다.
갑자기, 제단에, 사탄이 나타났다! 모두가 비명을 지르기 시작하였다 그리고 악마의 화신으로부터 도망가기 위해 필사적인 노력으로 서로를 짓밟고, 앞 출구로 달려갔다.
곧, 남자 한 사람을 제외하고 모두가 교회 밖으로 피신하였는데, 그 남자는 하느님의 최대의 적이 앞에 나타났다는 사실을 분명히 알고 있는 듯한데도, 신도석에 조용히 앉아 있었다. 이렇게 되자 사탄은 약간 당황했다.
사탄이 그 남자에게 걸어가서 말했다, "이봐, 넌 내가 누구인 줄 몰라?"
남자가 말했다, "알아요, 알고 말고요."
사탄이 말했다, "음, 너는 내가 무섭지 않아?"
남자가 말했다, "안 무서워요, 무섭지 않아요."
사탄은 당황해하며 말했다, "그럼 넌 왜 내가 무섭지 않아?"
"음, 난 25년 동안 당신 여동생과 결혼해 살고 있어요."
