Farmer John has three sons. One day his oldest comes to him and pleads with him that he is graduating from school and would really like to get a car.
His father says, "Son, come with me!" He takes him to the barn and points to the farm tractor and says, "This tractor is needed for the farm and I promise, as soon as it's paid for, we'll get you a car."
The boy was not too happy but he understood and said, "Ok, Dad."
A week later his second son, (10 yr. old), approaches him wanting a new two wheel bike. Well, he gets the same excuse, "....as soon as the tractor is paid for.... ."
Shortly after that his youngest is bugging him for a tricycle. Again, old dad gives him the lecture about the tractor needing to be paid off first.
While leaving the barn, the young boy, a little disgusted with the whole thing, sees the rooster mating with one of the hens, and promptly goes over and kicks the rooster off the hens back, mumbling to himself.
His dad says, "Son, why would you do something like that? He didn't do anything to you to deserve that."
The little boy says, "Hey, nobody rides anything around here until that damn tractor is paid off...!!!"
농부 존에게 세 아들이 있었다. 어느 날 제일 큰아들이 그에게 와서 그가 학교를 졸업하게 되니 차를 한 대 갖고 싶다고 간청하였다.
아버지가 말했다, "아들아, 나와 같이 가자!" 그는 아들을 차고로 데리고 가서 농장 트랙터를 가리키고 말했다, "이 트랙터는 농사를 짓는 데 필요하다 그래서 내가 약속하는데, 트랙터 값이 다 지불되면 바로 네 차를 사 줄게."
소년은 그리 기쁘진 않았지만 이해하고 말했다, "알았어요, 아버지."
일주일 뒤 둘째 아들(10살)이 그에게 다가와서 새 두 바퀴 자전거를 갖고 싶다고 했다. 그래서, 그는 똑같은 설명을 하였다, "...트랙터 값이 다 지불되는 대로...."
그 후 얼마 되지 않아 막내아들이 그에게 세발자전거를 사달라고 괴롭혔다. 이번에도 늙은 아버지는 트랙터 값을 먼저 갚아야 한다고 타일렀다.
막내아들이 차고를 떠나면서 모든 게 좀 불만이었다, 수탉이 암탉과 교미하고 있는 걸 보고는 재빨리 가서 수탉을 발로 차 암탉의 등에서 떨어뜨리고 혼자 중얼거렸다.
아버지가 말했다, "아들아, 왜 그랬어? 그 닭이 너에게 그런 대접을 받아야 할 일을 하지 않았잖아."
어린 소년이 말했다, "에이, 여기서는 아무도 그놈의 트랙터 값이 지불될 때까지는 아무 데도 올라타지 못해요...!"
