A wife and her husband were having a dinner party for some important guests. The wife was very excited about this and wanted everything to be perfect.
At the very last minute, she realized that she didn't have any snails for the dinner party, so she asked her husband to run down to the beach with the bucket to gather some snails.
Very grudgingly he agreed. He took the bucket, walked out the door, down the steps, and out to the beach. As he was collecting the snails, he noticed a beautiful woman strolling alongside the water just a little further down the beach. He kept thinking to himself, "Wouldn't it be great if she would even just come down and talk to me?" He went back to gathering the snails.
All of a sudden he looked up, and the beautiful woman was standing right over him.
They started talking and she invited him back to her place. They ended up spending the night together.
At seven o'clock the next morning he woke up and exclaimed, "Oh no!!! My wife's dinner party!!!"
He gathered all his clothes, put them on real fast, grabbed his bucket, and ran out the door. He ran down the beach all the way to his apartment. He ran up the stairs of his apartment. He was in such a hurry that when he got to the top of the stairs, he dropped the bucket of snails.
There were snails all down the stairs.
The door opened just then, with a very angry wife standing in the door way wondering where he's been all this time.
He looked at the snails all down the steps, then he looked at her, then back at the snails and said, "Come on guys, we're almost there!!"

남편은 마지못해 동의하였다. 그는 버킷을 들고 문밖으로 나가 계단을 내려가 해변으로 나갔다. 그가 달팽이를 모으고 있을 때, 그는 한 아름다운 여자가 거기서 좀 떨어진 해변을 산책하고 있는 걸 발견하였다. 그는 혼자 계속 생각했다, "저 여자가 그냥 이리로 와서 나에게 말을 걸면 얼마나 좋을까?" 그는 다시 달팽이를 모으러 갔다.
갑자기 그가 위를 쳐다보니, 그 아름다운 여자가 바로 자기 위에 서 있었다.
그들은 이야기를 시작하였고 그녀는 그를 그녀가 있는 곳으로 초대하였다. 그들은 결국 그날 밤을 함께 지냈다.
다음 날 아침 7시에 그는 잠을 깨고 소리쳤다, "아, 안 돼! 아내가 연 만찬이!"
그는 자기 옷을 모두 모아 재빨리 입고, 그의 버킷을 들고 문밖으로 내달렸다. 그는 해변에서 자기 아파트까지 줄곧 뛰었다. 그는 자기 아파트 계단을 뛰어 올라갔다. 그는 그렇게 서둘러 급히 올라가다가 계단 꼭대기에 올랐을 때 그는 달팽이가 든 버킷을 떨어뜨렸다.
달팽이들이 계단 아래로 죽 널렸다.
그때 문이 열리고, 몹시 화가 난 아내가 남편이 이때까지 어디에 있다 왔는지 의아해하며 문간에 서 있었다.
그는 계단 아래로 죽 널린 달팽이를 바라보고는, 그녀를 바라보았다, 그리곤 다시 달팽이를 보고 말했다, "자 빨리, 이놈들, 이제 거의 다 왔어!"
