The new minister's wife had a baby. The minister appealed to the congregation for a salary increase to cover the addition to the family.
The congregation agreed that it was only fair, and approved it.
When the next child arrived, the minister appealed and again the congregation approved the increase.
Several years and five children later, the congregation was a bit upset over the increasing expenses.
This turned into a rather loud meeting one night with the minister.
Finally, the minister stood up and shouted "Having children is an Act of God!"
An older man in the back stood and shouted back "So is rain and snow, but we wearing rubbers for them!"
새로 온 목사의 부인이 아이를 낳았다. 목사는 신도들에게 가족이 늘어난 만큼 봉급을 올려달라고 요청했다.
신도들은 그렇게 하는 것이 공평하다고 합의하고 승인해주었다.
둘째 아기가 태어나자 목사는 다시 인상하여 달라고 요청했고 신도들은 승인해 주었다.
몇 년 후 아이가 다섯 명이 되자, 신도들은 불어나는 비용때문에 약간 걱정이 되었다.
어느 날 밤 이 문제로 목사가 참석한 가운데 모임이 다소 시끄러워졌다.
드디어, 목사가 일어나서 외쳤다, "아이들을 갖는것은 하나님의 뜻입니다."
뒤에 앉아 있던 노인이 일어나서 되받았다, "비와 눈도 하나님의 뜻입니다. 그렇지만 우리들은 이들을 막기 위해 비옷을 입습니다!"
