One Saturday afternoon the grasshopper, the snail, and the centipede were sitting around the grasshopper's house drinking beer.
They ran out of beer before they were ready to quit drinking, so they decided one of them should go out for more beer.
The snail said, "I'd go, but I'm kind of slow. Besides, Grasshopper, this is your neighborhood so you know where to go."
The grasshopper said, "I don't mind going, but my hopping will shake up the beer and we'll get sprayed every time we open one."
So they decided to send the centipede; and the grasshopper explained how to get to the nearest liquor store.
An hour or so passed and still the centipede hadn't returned, so the snail and the grasshopper decided to go look for him. They got as far as the the front door and found the centipede sitting there putting on his shoes.
어느 토요일 오후 메뚜기, 달팽이, 지네가 메뚜기의 집에 앉아서 맥주를 마시고 있었다.
그들은 맥주를 마시던중 맥주가 다 떨어져 그들중 하나가 맥주를 사러 밖으로 나가야 했다.
달팽이가 말했다, "내가 가고 싶지만 좀 느리잖아, 게다가, 메뚜기야, 여기는 네 동네니까 네가 어딘지 잘 알지 않니."
메뚜기가 말했다, "내가 가기 싫은 건 아니야, 그렇지만 내가 뛰어다니면 맥주가 흔들려 우리가 맥주를 딸때마다 맥주를 뒤집어쓰게 될거야."
그래서 그들은 지네를 보내기로 결정했다. 메뚜기는 어떻게 가면 제일 가까운 술가게에 가는지 설명했다.
한시간쯤 지났지만 아직 지네가 돌아오지 않았다. 그래서 달팽이와 메뚜기가 지네를 찾아 보기로 하였다. 그들이 대문에 와서 보니 지네는 거기 앉아서 신들을 신고 있었다.
