The room was full of pregnant women and their partners. The Lamaze class was in full swing.
The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe properly, and informing the men how to give the necessary assurances at this stage of the plan.
"Ladies, exercise is good for you," announced the teacher. "Walking is especially beneficial. And, gentlemen, it wouldn't hurt you to take the time to go walking with your partner!"
The room was very quiet. Finally, a man in the middle of the group raised his hand.
"Yes?" asked the instructor.
"Is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"
강의실은 임신부들과 그들의 남편들로 꽉 찼다. 라마즈 수업이 한창 진행중이었다.
강사는 여자들에겐 올바른 호흡 방법을 가르치고, 남자들에겐 이 단계에서 어떻게하면 여자에게 필요한 자신감을 넣어주는지에 대하여 설명했다.
"숙녀 여러분, 운동은 여러분들에 도움을 줍니다," 하고 강사가 말했다, "걷기 운동이 특히 유익합니다. 그리고, 신사 여러분, 여러분들이 파트너와 함께 걷는 시간을 갖는다고하여 여러분들에게 해가 될건 없습니다!"
강의실은 매우 조용하였다. 드디어, 수강자들중 가운데 있던 한 남자가 손을 들었다.
"예?" 하고 강사가 물었다.
"우리가 걸어갈때 아내가 골프백을 끌고가도 아무 문제가 없나요?"
