A couple is having trouble taking care of their elderly father, as both of them work. After a long discussion they have decided that he would be taken care of better in a retirement home. After a long search the couple had decided on a nice home and took the old man there so he could check it out.
When they entered the facility they sat the old man down in the lobby as they had to fill out paperwork with the administrator. After a few minutes, the old man started to lean to the left. He got about 45 degrees over when a nurse passing by straightened him up. "There you go, Sir" and she walked away.
A couple of minutes after that, the old man started to lean to the right. He had almost reached another 45 degrees when an orderly grabbed him and said "Here be careful, don't want to fall over." and walked away. Minutes later the old man began to lean forward when his kids walked back with the administrator.
The administrator seeing the old man leaning forward quickly righted him.
The couple assured that their father liked the placed asked him what he thought of it.
The old man just looked at them and replied, "Its okay, but what does a guy have to do to fart around here!"
어느 부부가 둘 다 직장에 다니고 있었기 때문에 그들의 연로한 아버지를 돌보기가 힘들었다. 오랜 논의 끝에 그들은 아버지가 양로원에 들어가시면 더 편하실 거라고 생각하였다. 부부는 오랜 탐색 끝에 좋은 양로원을 찾아내고 아버지가 확인할 수 있도록 하기 위해 아버지를 데리고 거기로 갔다.
그들이 건물 안으로 들어갔을 때 그들이 관리자와 함께 서류를 작성하고 있는 동안 부부는 노인을 로비에 앉혀두었다. 잠시 후, 노인이 왼쪽으로 몸을 기울이기 시작하였다. 노인이 약 45도로 기울어지자 지나가던 한 간호사가 노인을 바로 세웠다. "자 어때요! 할아버지." 하고는 그녀는 가버렸다.
그 후 2분쯤 지난 뒤, 그 노인은 오른쪽으로 몸을 기울이기 시작하였다. 노인이 또 45도로 기울어지자 한 잡역부가 할아버지를 붙들고 말했다, "넘어지고 싶지 않으시면, 조심하세요." 그러고는 떠나 버렸다. 몇 분 뒤 노인은 다시 앞으로 몸을 기울이기 시작하였는데 그때는 아들 내외가 관리인과 함께 돌아왔다.
노인의 몸이 앞으로 기울어지는 걸 본 관리인이 재빨리 노인을 바로 세웠다.
아버지가 그곳을 좋아하신다고 안심한 부부는 아버지에게 이곳을 어떻게 생각하시느냐고 물었다.
노인이 그들을 그냥 바라보고 대답하였다, "좋아, 하지만 여기서는 사람이 방귀를 뀌려면 어떻게 해야 하지!"
