Joe had asked Bob to help him out with the deck after work, so Bob just went straight over to Joe's place.
When they got to the door, Joe went straight to his wife, gave her a hug and told her how beautiful she was and how much he had missed her at work.
When it was time for supper, he complimented his wife on her cooking, kissed her and told her how much he loved her.
Once they were working on the deck, Bob told Joe that he was surprised that he fussed so much over his wife.
Joe said that he'd started this about 6 months ago, it had revived their marriage, and things couldn't be better. Bob thought he'd give it a go.
When he got home, he gave his wife a massive hug, kissed her and told her that he loved her. His wife burst into tears.
Bob was confused and asked why she was crying. She said, "This is the worst day of my life. First, little Billy fell off his bike and twisted his ankle. Then, the washing machine broke and flooded the basement. And now, you come home drunk!"
조가 봅에게 퇴근하면 덱 일을 도와 달라고 부탁하였다, 그래서 봅은 조의 집으로 바로 갔다.
그들이 집에 도착하자, 조는 바로 자기 아내에게 가서 아내를 포옹하고 아내에게 그녀가 얼마나 아름다운지 그리고 직장에 있을 때 얼마나 그녀가 보고 싶었는지 모를 거라고 말했다.
저녁 식사 때가 되자, 조는 아내의 요리 솜씨를 칭찬하면서 그녀를 키스하고 그녀를 몹시 사랑한다고 말했다.
일단 덱에서 일하게 되자, 봅은 조에게 그가 자기 아내에게 그렇게 호들갑을 뜨는 걸 보고 놀랐다고 말했다.
조는 약 6개월 전에 이렇게 시작하였는데, 그렇게 하니 결혼생활이 되살아났고, 그 이상 좋을 수 없다고 말했다. 봅은 자기도 한번 시도해 봐야겠다고 생각하였다.
봅은 집에 도착하자, 아내를 힘껏 안아주고 키스하면서 그녀를 사랑한다고 말했다. 그의 아내는 울음을 터뜨렸다.
봅은 당황하여 왜 우느냐고 물었다. 그녀가 말했다, "오늘은 아주 재수 없는 날이야, 우선, 리틀 빌리가 자전거에서 떨어져 발목을 삐었고, 또, 세탁기가 고장 나서 지하실이 물바다가 되었단 말이야, 그리고 이젠 당신까지 술에 취해 집에 돌아왔잖아!"
