The Reverend John Fuzz was pastor of a small congregation in a little Pennsylvania town.
One day he was walking down Main Street and he happened to notice a female member of his congregation sitting in the town bar, drinking beer.
The reverend thought this was sinful and not something a member of his congregation should do, so he walked through the open door of the bar and sat down next to the woman.
"Mrs. Fitzgerald," the reverend said sternly. "This is no place for a member of my congregation. Why don't you let me take you home?"
"Shure," she said with a slur, obviously very drunk.
When Mrs. Fitzgerald stood up from the bar, she began to weave back and forth. The reverend realized that she had had too much to drink and he grabbed hold of her arms to steady her.
When he did, they both lost their balance and tumbled to the floor. After rolling around for a few seconds, the reverend wound up lying on top of Mrs. Fitzgerald, her skirt hiked up to her waist.
The bartender looked over the bar and said, "Here, here, buddy, we won't have any of that carrying-on in this bar."
The reverend looked up at the bartender and said, "But you don't understand, I'm Pastor Fuzz."
The bartender nodded. "Well if you're that far you may as well finish."
성직자 존 파즈는 펜실베이니아의 한 작은 마을에 있는 조그만 교회의 목사였다.
어느 날 그가 마을 중심가를 걷고 있다가 우연히 자기 교회의 한 여성 신도가 동네 술집에 앉아서 술을 마시고 있는 걸 보았다.
그 목사는 이건 죄를 범하는 일이고 자기 교회의 신도가 해서는 안 되는 일이라고 생각하였다, 그래서 그는 그 바의 열린 문으로 들어가서 그 여자의 옆에 앉았다.
"피츠제럴드 부인," 하고 목사가 단호하게 말했다, "여기는 우리 교회의 신도가 있을 장소가 아닙니다. 제가 당신을 댁까지 모셔다드릴까요?"
"그러셔," 하고 그녀는 분명 술이 많이 취하여 혀 꼬부라진 소리로 말했다.
피츠제럴드 부인이 카운터에서 일어설 때, 그녀는 앞뒤로 흔들거리기 시작하였다. 목사는 그녀가 술을 너무 많이 마신 걸 알고 그녀의 몸을 가누기 위하여 그녀의 팔을 붙잡았다.
그가 팔을 붙잡았을 때, 그들 둘은 균형을 잃고 바닥에 넘어졌다. 잠깐 몸을 엎치락뒤치락하다가 목사가 피츠제럴드 부인의 몸 위에 눕게 되고 그녀의 스커트가 그녀의 허리까지 끌어올려졌다.
바텐더가 카운터 너머로 바라보고 말했다, "이봐요, 이봐요, 손님, 이 바에서는 그런 난잡한 짓을 해서는 안 됩니다."
목사가 바텐더를 바라보고 말했다, "하지만 당신은 이해를 못 해요, 나는 파즈 목사입니다."
바텐더가 고개를 끄덕이었다. "음, 당신이 그 정도 되는 사람이라면, 끝까지 하는 편이 좋겠군요."
