Once upon a time, there was a non-conforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter.
However, soon after the weather turned cold, the sparrow changed his mind and reluctantly started to fly south.
After a short time, ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard almost frozen.
A cow passed by and crapped on this little bird and the sparrow thought it was the end, but the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings.
Warm and happy the little sparrow began to sing. Just then, a large Tom cat came by and hearing the chirping investigated the sounds.
As Old Tom cleared away the manure, he found the chirping bird and promptly ate him.
* There are three morals to this story:
1) Everyone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy.
2) Everyone who gets you out of shit is not necessarily your friend.
3) If you are warm and happy in a pile of shit, keep your mouth shut.
옛날 옛적에 관행을 따르지 않고 겨울에 남쪽으로 날아가지 않기로 결심한 참새가 한 마리 있었다.
하지만, 날씨가 추워진 후에, 참새는 마음을 바꾸어 마지못해 남쪽으로 떠났다.
얼마 후, 날개에 얼음이 생기기 시작하더니 거의 얼어서 어느 농가 마당에 떨어졌다.
소가 한 마리 지나가면서 이 작은 새 위에다 똥을 누었다 그리고 참새는 인생의 끝이라고 생각하였다, 그러나 소똥은 그를 따뜻하게 해 주었고 그의 날개를 녹여주었다.
따뜻하고 행복해지자 그 작은 새는 노래를 부르기 시작하였다. 바로 그때, 커다란 수고양이 한 마리가 지나가다가 그 짹짹거리는 소리를 듣고 무슨 소리인지 조사했다.
늙은 수고양이가 소똥을 치우다가, 짹짹거리는 새를 발견하고 재빨리 잡아먹었다.
* 이 이야기에는 세 가지의 교훈이 있다:
1) 당신의 몸에 똥을 누는 사람이라고 하여 반드시 당신의 적이 되는 건 아니다.
2) 당신을 똥 밖으로 꺼내 주는 사람이라고 하여 반드시 당신의 친구가 되는 건 아니다.
3) 당신이 똥 속에서 따뜻하고 행복하다면 당신은 입을 다물고 있어라.
