A flying saucer landed at a gas station on a lonely country road.
The two space aliens inside seemed completely unconcerned about detection; in fact, the letters "UFO" were emblazoned in big, bold letters on one side of their shiny craft.
As the station owner stood and gawked in silence, paralyzed with shock, his young blonde attendant nonchalantly filled up the tank and waved to the two aliens as they took off.
"Do you realize what just happened?" the station owner finally uttered.
"Yeah," said the blonde attendant. "So?"
"Didn't you see the letters 'UFO' on the side of that vehicle?!"
"Yeah," repeated the blonde attendant. "So?"
"Don't you know what 'UFO' means?!"
The blonde attendant rolled his eyes. "Geez, boss, I've been working here for six years. Of course I know what 'UFO' means -- 'Unleaded Fuel Only.'"
비행접시 한 대가 한적한 시골길에 있는 주유소에 착륙하였다.
안에 있는 두 우주 외계인은 비행체 노출에 대하여는 전혀 신경을 쓰지 않는 듯하였다; 사실은 그들의 번쩍이는 비행체의 한쪽 옆면에는 굵은 글씨로 "UFO"라는 글이 장식되어 있었다.
주유소 주인은 충격을 받아 아무 말도 못 하고 얼이 빠져 서 있었고, 젊은 블론드 직원은 태연하게 탱크에 연료를 채우고 두 외계인들이 떠날 때는 그들에게 손을 흔들었다.
"너 방금 무슨 일이 일어났는지 알아?" 하고 주유소 주인이 드디어 말을 꺼냈다.
"예," 하고 블론드 직원이 말했다, "그런데요?"
"너 그 비행체 옆에 'UFO'라고 쓰인 걸 못 봤어?"
"봤어요, 그런데요?" 하고 블론드 직원이 말을 되풀이하였다.
"너 'UFO'가 무슨 뜻인지 몰라?"
블론드가 눈알을 굴렸다, "제기랄, 사장님, 제가 여기서 6년 동안 일했습니다. 당연히 'UFO'가 무슨 뜻인지 알고 있죠 -- '무연 연료만'이란 뜻이죠."
