One night, Erich Honnecker was in the bedchamber having some pillow talk with his mistress.
He was in a magnanimous mood and offered her a present of her choice.
She thought about his offer for a moment and then replied,
"Oh, Erich, if there is one thing I would like you to do for me, it is this: open the borders just for one day."
Honnecker said, "Of course, my dear," but was a bit puzzled by her request.
He asked, "But why would you have me do such a thing?"
The mistress replied, "I want to be alone with you."
어느 날 밤 에릭 호네커가 침실에서 정부와 정담을 나누고 있었다.
그는 느긋한 기분이 들어, 정부에게 선물로 원하는 걸 하나 고르라고 말했다.
정부는 무엇을 원해야 할지 잠시 생각에 잠겼다, 그러더니 대답했다.
"아, 에릭, 당신에게 원하고 싶은 게 하나 있다면, 이런 거예요, 단 하루 동안만 국경을 개방하는 겁니다."
호네커가 말했다, "해주고말고." 그렇지만 그녀의 요구에 약간 어리둥절했다.
그가 물었다, "그런데 왜 내가 그렇게 하길 바라는 거야?"
정부가 대답했다, "당신과 나 둘만 있고 싶으니까요."
