A Texas rancher was driving through Mexico and stopped at the edge of the road to admire the scenery and a white beautiful horse caught his eye.
The horse looked healthy well kept and was in a separate corral. Just for tries the Texan asked one of the workers if the horse was for sale. The worker trying to communicate said, “No, no, he no look to good.”
The Texan was not satisfied with the answered because he saw that the animal looked great and insisted on buying it, after a few arguments the worker arranged for the sale and the Texan took the horse back to his ranch.
He rode the horse through his ranch and galloped to the barn when suddenly the horse ran right into the barn wall.
Frustrated the Texan takes the horse back to Mexico and talks to the worker that sold him the horse and explains what happened. The worker said, “I told you he no look to good.”
텍사스의 어느 목장주가 멕시코를 자동차로 여행하고 있었는데 그의 눈에 들어온 풍경과 아름다운 백마 한 마리를 보려고 차를 세웠다.
그 말은 건강하게 잘 키워졌고 분리된 울타리 속에 있었다. 그냥 알아보기 위하여 그 텍사스인은 그곳 일꾼 중 한 명에게 그 말이 팔려는 말이냐고 물었다. 그 일꾼은 대화하려고 노력하면서 말했다, "노, 노, 그 말은 no look to good입니다."
텍사스인은 자기가 보기엔 그 말이 훌륭해 보였기 때문에 멕시코인의 대답에 동의할 수 없어 그 말을 사겠다고 주장했다. 약간의 흥정 끝에 그 일꾼은 말을 팔기로 하였고 텍사스인은 그 말을 자기 목장으로 데려갔다.
그는 자기 목장에서 그 말을 타고 헛간 쪽으로 질주하였다, 그때 갑자기 그 말이 헛간 벽과 바로 충돌하였다.
놀란 텍사스인이 그 말을 멕시코로 다시 데려가서 자기에게 그 말을 팔았던 일꾼에게 말을 걸고 무슨 일이 벌어졌는지 설명하였다. 그 일꾼이 말했다, "내가 당신에게 그 말은 no look to good 이라고 말했잖아요."

* no look to good ☞ 멕시코 일꾼은 영어가 서툴러서, 대화하려고 노력한 끝에 한 말이 "no look to good"였다. 즉 "잘 보지 못한다"는 뜻으로 한 말인데 텍사스인은 "보기 좋은 말이 아니다"라는 뜻으로 알아들었다는 조크
