Sam wakes up at home with a huge hangover. Forcing him to open his eyes, the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table.
He sits down and notices his clothes in front of him, all clean and pressed.
He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, all spotless and clean.
So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table, "Sweetheart, your breakfast is on the stove. I had to leave early to go shopping. Love you."
So, he goes to the kitchen and, sure enough, there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper.
His son is sitting at the table, eating.
"What happened last night, son?" Sam asks.
His son replies, "Well, you came home after 3:00 AM, very drunk and delirious. Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door."
Confused, Sam asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?"
"Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you said, 'Lady, leave me alone. I'm married'," his son replies.
샘은 집에서 잠을 깼을 때 심한 숙취를 느꼈다. 억지로 눈을 뜨고 보니 제일 먼저 눈에 들어 오는 게 사이드 테이블 위에 있는 아스피린 두 알과 물 한 잔이었다.
그가 일어나 앉아보니 그의 앞에 옷이 놓여 있었는데 깨끗하고 다름질이 되어 있었다.
방을 둘러보니 완벽하게 정돈되어 있었고 얼룩 하나 없이 깨끗했다.
집의 다른 곳도 그랬다. 그는 아스피린을 먹다 테이블 위에 놓인 쪽지를 발견했다, "여보, 스토브 위에 당신 아침 식사가 준비되어 있어요, 나는 일찍 나가 쇼핑하고 올게요, 사랑해요."
그래서 그는 부엌으로 갔다, 아니나 다를까, 따끈한 아침 식사와 조간신문이 준비되어있었다.
그의 아들이 테이블에 앉아 식사하고 있었다.
샘이 물었다, "어젯밤 무슨 일이 있었지?"
아들이 대답했다, "아빠가 새벽 3시 넘어서 술에 취해 헛소리하며 들어오셔서 세간을 좀 부수고 현관에 토해내고 안으로 들어오시면서 넘어져 눈이 멍드셨어요."
혼란스러워진 샘이 물었다, "그런데 왜 모든 것이 이렇게 깨끗이 정돈되고 식탁에 내가 먹을 아침밥이 준비되어 있냐?"
아들이 대답했다, "아 그거! 엄마가 아빠를 침대로 끌고 가서 바지를 벗기려 하자, 아빠가 '부인, 나를 내버려 둬요. 난 결혼한 몸이라오' 라고 말했거든요."
