A man and his wife were driving through country on his way from New York to California.
Looking at his fuel gauge, he decided to stop at the next gasoline station and fill up.
About 15 minutes later, he spots a Mobil station and pulls over to the high octane pump.
"What can I do for y'all?" asks the attendant.
"Fill `er up with high test," replies the driver. While the attendant is filling up the tank, he's looking the car up and down.
"What kinda car is this?" he asks. "I never seen one like it before."
"Well," responds the driver, his chest swelling up with pride, "this, my boy is a 1999 Cadillac DeVille."
"What all's it got in it?" asks the attendant.
"Well," says the driver, "it has everything. It's loaded with power steering, power seats, power sun roof, power mirrors, AM/FM radio with a 10 deck CD player in the trunk with 100 watts per channel, 8 speaker stereo, rack and pinion steering, disk brakes all around, leather interior, digital instrument package, and best of all, a 8.8 liter V12 engine."
"Wow," says the attendant, "that's really something!"
"How much do I owe you for the gasoline?" asks the driver.
"That'll be $30.17," says the attendant.
The driver pulls out his money clip and peels off a $20 and a $10.
He goes into his other pocket and pulls out a handful of change.
Mixed up with the change are a few golf tees.
"What are those little wooden things?" asks the attendant.
"That's what I put my balls on when I drive," says the driver.
"Wow," says the attendant, "those Cadillac people think of everything!"
어떤 남자와 그의 아내가 차를 몰고 뉴욕에서 캘리포니아주로 가는 길에 시골을 지나고 있었다.
연료 게이지를 보더니 남자는 다음 주유소에 정차하여 연료를 채우기로 했다.
15분쯤 뒤 주유소를 발견하고 고옥탄 연료펌프쪽에 차를 세웠다.
"어떻게 도와드릴까요?" 하고 종업원이 물었다.
"고품질 휘발유로 채워줘요," 하고 운전자가 대답했다. 종업원이 탱크에 휘발유를 채우면서 자동차를 아래위로 훑어봤다.
"이차는 무슨 차예요? 전 이런 차를 처음 보는데요." 하고 종업원이 물었다.
"이건 말이야," 하고는 운전자는 가슴을 펴고 자랑스럽게 말했다. "1999년식 캐디락 데빌이야." 라고 말했다.
"안에 어떤 것들이 갖춰져 있나요?" 하고 종업원이 물었다.
운전자가 말했다, "온갖게 다 있지. 파워 스티어링, 파워 시트, 파워 선루프, 파워 미러, 채널마다 100와트 짜리의 10데크 CD프레이어가 있는 AM/FM 라디오, 8스피커 짜리 스테레오, 랙 앤 피년 스티어링, 사방 디스크 브레이크, 가죽 인테리어, 디지털 계기판, 그리고 무엇보다, 8,800씨씨에 브이12기통 엔진이지."
"와! 정말 멋지네요!" 하고 종업원이 말했다.
"휘발유 값이 얼마지?" 하고 운전자가 물었다.
"30달러 17센트 되겠습니다." 하고 종업원이 말했다.
운전자는 크립지갑을 꺼내어 20달러 짜리 한장과 10달러 짜리 한장을 빼냈다.
그는 다른 호주머니에서 잔돈을 한 움큼 꺼냈다.
그 잔돈에는 골프 티 몇개가 섞여 있었다.
"저 조그만 나무로 된건 뭡니까?" 하고 종업원이 물었다.
"그건 드라이브할때 내 공을 올려놓는 거지," 하고 운전자가 말했다.
종업원이 말했다, "히야, 캐디락 타고 다니는 사람은 온갖 걸 다 생각하는구나!"
