When she went before the judge in Taupo he asked her, "What did you steal?"
She replied, "A can of peaches."
The judge then asked her why she had stolen the can of peaches and she replied that she was hungry.
The judge then asked her how many peaches were in the can. She replied, "6."
The judge then said, "I will then give you 6 days in jail."
Before the judge could actually pronounce the punishment, the woman's husband spoke up and asked the judge if he could say something.
The judge said, "What is it?"
The husband said, "She also stole a can of peas."
타우포에서 그녀가 판사 앞에 섰을 때 판사가 그녀에게 물었다, "당신은 뭘 훔쳤나요?"
그녀가 대답했다, "복숭아 한 캔입니다."
그러자 판사가 그녀에게 왜 복숭아 캔을 훔쳤느냐고 물었고, 그녀는 배가 고팠다고 대답했다.
그러자 판사가 그녀에게 그 캔에는 복숭아가 몇 개나 들어있었느냐고 물었다. 그녀가 "6개"라고 대답했다.
그러자 판사가 말했다, "그렇다면 당신에게 구류 6일을 줘야겠군요."
판사가 실제로 형량을 선고하기 전에 그 여자의 남편이 큰소리로 판사에게 할 말이 있는데 해도 되느냐고 물었다.
판사가 말했다, "뭡니까?"
남편이 대답했다, "저 여자는 완두콩도 한 캔 훔쳤습니다."
