One night, Tim was walking home when, all of a sudden, a thief jumped on him. Tim and the thief were began to wrestle.
They rolled about on the ground and Tim put up a tremendous fight. However, the thief managed to get the better of him and pinned him to the ground. The thief then went through Tim's pockets and searched him.
All the thief could find on Tim was 25 cents.
The thief was so surprised at this that he asked Tim why he had bothered to fight so hard for a 25 cents.
"Was that all you wanted?" Tim replied, "I thought you were after the five hundred dollars I've got in my shoe!"
어느날 밤, 팀이 집으로 걸어가고 있었는데 갑자기 도둑이 나타나 팀을 덥쳤다. 팀과 도둑은 몸싸움을 하기 시작했다.
그들은 땅에 뒹굴었고 팀은 죽어라고 싸웠다. 그렇지만 도둑이 더 힘이 세어 팀을 땅에 밀어붙였다. 그리곤 도둑이 팀의 포켓를 뒤지고 몸을 뒤졌다.
도둑이 팀에게서 발견한 건 25센트가 전부였다.
도둑이 매우 놀라서 팀에게 단돈 25센트 때문에 그렇게 힘들게 싸웠느냐고 물었다.
팀이 대답했다, "그게 네가 원한 전부야? 난 네가 내 구두속에 숨겨둔 500 달러를 노리고 있는 줄 알았지!"
