At school, a boy was told by a classmate that most adults are hiding at least one dark secret, and that this makes it very easy to blackmail them by saying, "I know the whole truth."
The boy decides to go home and try it out.
He goes home, and as he is greeted by his mother he says, "I know the whole truth."
His mother quickly hands him $20 and says, "Just don't tell your father."
Quite pleased, the boy waits for his father to get home from work, and greets him with, "I know the whole truth."
The father promptly hands him $40 and says, "Please don't say a word to your mother."
Very pleased, the boy is on his way to school the next day, when he sees the mailman at his front door.
The boy greets him by saying, "I know the whole truth."
The mailman drops the mail, opens his arms, and says, "Then come give your FATHER a big hug."
한 소년이 학교에서 반친구로 부터 대부분의 어른들은 적어도 한개의 숨은 비밀은 가지고 있고 그들에게 "난 진실을 모두 알고 있어요"란 말로 겁주면 돈을 받아내기 쉽다는 이야기를 들었다.
소년은 집에 가서 한번 시험해보기로 했다.
소년은 집에 도착하여 그를 맞이하는 엄마에게 말했다, "난 진실을 모두 알고 있어."
엄마는 재빨리 그에게 20달러를 건네주며 말했다, "아빠에게 절대 이야기하면 안돼."
기분이 아주 좋아진 소년은 아빠가 직장에서 돌아오기를 기다렸다가, 아빠에게 "난 진실을 모두 알고 있어요." 라며 인사했다.
아빠는 재빨리 40달러를 건네주며 말했다, "제발 엄마에겐 한마디도 말하지 말아다오."
대단히 기분이 좋아진 소년은 다음날 학교로 가는길에 현관앞에서 우체부 아저씨를 만났다.
소년은 우체부 아저씨에게 "난 진실을 모두 알고 있어요." 라며 인사했다.
그 우체부는 편지를 떨어뜨리고 팔을 벌리며 말했다, "그럼 이리와 아빠를 힘껏 안아다오."
