A man realized he needed to purchase a hearing aid, but he felt unwilling to spend much money.
"How much do they run?" he asked the clerk.
"That depends," said the salesman. "They run from $2.00 to $2,000."
"Let's see the $2.00 model," he said.
The clerk put the device around the man's neck.
"You just stick this button in your ear and run this little string down to your pocket," he instructed.
"How does it work?" the customer asked.
"For $2.00 it doesn't work," the salesman replied. "But when people see it on you, they'll talk louder!"
한 남자가 보청기를 구매할 필요성을 느꼈지만, 큰돈은 쓰고 싶지 않았다.
"저것들은 얼마씩 합니까?" 하고 그는 점원에게 물었다.
"물건에 따라 다릅니다," 하고 점원이 말했다, "2달러에서 2,000달러까지 합니다."
2달러짜리를 보여주세요," 하고 그가 말했다.
점원은 2달러짜리를 그 남자의 목에 걸어 주었다.
"이 버튼은 그냥 귓속에 넣고 이 작은 줄은 밑으로 해서 호주머니에 넣으세요," 하고 점원이 지시하였다.
"작동은 어떻게 합니까?"하고 손님이 물었다.
"2달러짜리는 작동하지 않습니다," 하고 점원이 대답하였다, "하지만 사람들이 당신이 이걸 끼고 있는 걸 보면, 더 큰 소리로 말해 줄 겁니다!"
