A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."
The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up.
The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."
어느 목사가 모인 신도들에게 말했다, "다음 주에는 제가 거짓말의 죄악에 관하여 설교하겠습니다. 제 설교의 이해를 돕기 위하여, 여러분 모두 마가복음 17장을 읽어보시기 바랍니다."
다음 주일에, 목사는 설교를 행할 준비를 하면서, 신도들에게 손을 들라고 하였다. 그는 얼마나 많은 사람들이 마가복음 17장을 읽어보았는지 알고 싶었다. 모두가 손을 들었다.
목사가 웃으면서 말했다, "마가복음엔 16장 밖에 없습니다. 그럼 거짓말의 죄악에 대한 설교를 진행하겠습니다."
