Two hunters, Bill and Ken, were dragging their dead deer back to their car.
They were having an awful time with the antlers catching on every bush and stump.
Another hunter approached pulling his along too.
"Hey, I don't want to tell you how to do something.... but I can save you some sweat in taking out that carcass." said the hunter.
"Huh. Ok. Hey, thanks," Bill replied looking up appreciatively.
The hunter said, "If you would pull it the other direction it would be easier," nodding as he passed.
After the hunter left, the two decided to try it. A little while later Bill said to Ken, "You know, that guy was right. This is a lot easier, the antlers aren't snagging on anything now!"
"Well it may be easier," Ken added. "but we're getting farther and farther away from the car!"
두 사냥꾼, 빌과 켄은 죽은 사슴을 끌고 그들의 차로 돌아오고 있었다.
그들은 사슴의 뿔 가지가 덤불과 나무 그루터기에 걸려서 무척 힘든 시간을 보내고 있었다.
또 한 사람의 사냥꾼이 역시 자기 것을 끌며 다가오고 있었다.
"이봐요, 내가 어떻게 하라고 말하고 싶진 않지만 저 사체를 옮기면서 당신들이 땀을 덜 흘리도록 할 수는 있습니다."하고 그 사냥꾼이 말했다.
"그래요, 좋습니다. 정말, 감사합니다," 하고 빌이 올려다보고 고마워하며 대답하였다.
그 사냥꾼이 말했다, "만약 당신들이 그걸 다른 방향으로 끌면 더 수월합니다," 그는 지나가면서 목례를 하였다.
그 사냥꾼이 떠난 후, 둘은 그렇게 해보기로 하였다. 잠시 후 빌이 켄에게 말했다, "그러니까, 그 사람 말이 맞아. 이렇게 하니 훨씬 쉽군, 뿔 가지가 이젠 어디에도 안 걸려!"
"그래 훨씬 쉽군," 하고 켄이 말을 덧붙였다. "하지만 우리가 차에서 점점 더 멀어지고 있잖아!"
