The 2000 member Baptist church was filled to overflowing capacity one Sunday morning. The preacher was ready to start the sermon when two men, dressed in long black coats and black hats entered thru the rear of the church.
One of the two men walked to the middle of the church while the other stayed at the back of the church. They both then reached under their coats and withdrew automatic weapons.
The one in the middle announced, "EVERYONE WILLING TO TAKE A BULLET FOR JESUS STAY IN YOUR SEAT!"
Naturally, the pews emptied, followed by the choir. The deacons ran out the door, followed by the choir director and the assistant pastor. After a few moments, there were about 20 people left sitting in the church. The preacher was holding steady in the pulpit.
The men put their weapons away and said, gently, to the preacher, "All right, pastor, the hypocrites are gone now. You may begin the service."
교인 2,000명의 침례교회가 어느 일요일 아침에는 초만원을 이루었다. 목사가 설교를 시작하려 하고 있었는데 그때 긴 검은 코트와 검은 모자 차림의 두 남자가 교회 뒷문을 통하여 들어왔다.
그 두 사람 중 한 남자가 교회 가운데로 걸어가고 다른 남자는 교회 뒤에 머물러 있었다. 그때 그들 두 사람은 그들이 입고 있던 코트 밑으로 손을 넣더니 자동화기를 꺼내 들었다.
가운데 있던 남자가 소리쳤다, "예수님을 위하여 총알받이가 되고 싶은 사람은 자기 자리에 그냥 남아!"
자연히, 신도석 교인들이 빠져나갔고 그다음으로 성가대가 빠져나갔다. 집사들이 문밖으로 달아나고, 성가대 지휘자와 보조 목사가 뒤를 이어 달아났다. 잠시 후, 교회에 남아 앉아있는 사람들이 약 20명이 되었다. 목사는 설교단에 꿋꿋이 서 있었다.
그 남자들은 그들의 무기를 치우고 목사에게 침착하게 말하였다, "됐습니다, 목사님, 이젠 위선자들은 가버렸습니다. 설교를 시작하세요."
