A customer was so infatuated with his waitress he decided to ask her for a date, but couldn't get her attention. When he was able to catch her eye, she quickly looked away.
Finally he followed her into the kitchen and confronted her. With a total lack of finesse, he blurted out his invitation. To his amazement, she readily consented.
He said, "Why have you been avoiding me since you served me? You wouldn't even make eye contact."
"Oh," replied the waitress, "I thought you wanted more coffee."

드디어 그는 부엌으로 그녀를 따라 들어가서 그녀를 대면하였다. 그는 기교라고는 전혀 없이, 불쑥 초대하겠다는 말을 꺼냈다. 놀랍게도 그녀는 기꺼이 동의하였다.
그가 말했다, "당신이 나에게 서빙한 후로는 왜 날 피했죠?" 당신은 눈길마저 피했잖아요."
웨이트리스가 대답하였다, "아, 저는 당신이 커피를 더 달라고 말할 줄 알았어요."
