A man goes to a psychiatrist and says, "Doctor, you must help me. Every night I dream that I'm driving a truck from Pittsburgh to New York. I'm so tired I can hardly get up in the morning."
The doctor says, "Tell you what. Next time you have this dream, just call me and I'll come over and drive the truck for you."
The man tries it, and is cured.
Another patient tells the doctor, "I have this same dream every night. I'm making love to four beautiful women, and by morning I'm totally exhausted. Can you help me?"
The doctor says, "Tell you what, next time you have this dream, just call me and I'll come and take a couple of them off your hands for you."
Two weeks later the man goes back to the psychiatrist and says, "Doc, you gotta help me. Now these women are bringing their friends, and they're all getting so demanding. I'm so tired I can barely get through the day. Can't you do something?"
"You should have called me." the doctor replied. "I told you I'd take a couple of them off your hands."
"But Doc," he said, "I've been calling you every night, and your answering service keeps telling me you're out driving a truck from Pittsburgh to New York."
한 남자가 정신과 의사를 찾아가 말했다, "선생님, 절 도와주세요. 밤마다 저는 피츠버그에서 뉴욕으로 트럭을 몰고 가는 꿈을 꾸고 있습니다. 저는 너무 피곤하여 아침에는 일어날 수 없을 정도입니다."
의사가 말했다, "이렇게 해 보세요. 다음에 당신이 이런 꿈을 꾸게 되면 바로 저에게 전화하세요, 그러면 제가 가서 당신을 위해 그 트럭을 운전하겠습니다."
그 남자는 그렇게 해보았는데 치료가 되었다.
또 다른 환자가 그 의사에게 말했다, "저는 밤마다 이런 똑같은 꿈을 꾸고 있습니다. 제가 4명의 미녀와 섹스를 하는 것입니다, 그리고 아침에는 저는 완전히 기진맥진해 버립니다. 저를 도와주실 수 있습니까?"
의사가 말했다, "이렇게 해보세요, 다음에 당신이 이런 꿈을 꾸게 되면, 바로 저에게 전화하세요, 그러면 제가 가서 당신을 위해 그들 중 2명을 제가 데리고 가겠습니다."
2주일 뒤 그 남자가 정신과 의사에게 다시 가서 말했다, "선생님, 절 도와주셔야겠습니다. 이젠 이 여자들이 자기들의 친구를 데리고 오는데 그들 모두가 지나치게 요구하는 겁니다. 저는 너무 피곤하여 간신히 하루를 보내고 있습니다. 이걸 어떻게 해야 합니까?"
"저에게 전화를 걸었어야죠," 하고 의사가 대답하였다. "제가 그들 중 2명은 데리고 가겠다고 말씀드렸잖아요."
그가 말했다, "그러나 선생님, 저는 밤마다 선생님에게 전화를 걸었습니다. 그리고 선생님의 전화 자동 응답은 계속해서 선생님이 피츠버그에서 뉴욕으로 트럭을 몰러 나갔다고 하더군요."
