There was a group of army men marching down a road at night looking for a place to stay. They came upon a farm house and knocked on the door.
An old farmer answered the door. The Sergeant asked if they could spend the night. The man said yes but he only had room for one man.
The Sergeant yelled out to Private Peters; "You spend the night here and we will go down the road and find a place for the rest of us to stay."
They went on down the road and came upon a whorehouse where they proceeded to knock on the door.
A woman leaned out the window and asked what do you want.
The Sergeant replied we need a place to stay.
The woman asked how many are there of you, to which the Sergeant said, "39 without Peters."
The woman then said. "Well grease your fingers and come on in."
야간에 머물 장소를 물색하면서 도로를 행진하는 일단의 군인들이 있었다. 그들은 한 농장을 발견하고 문을 노크하였다.
늙은 농부가 나왔다. 중사가 잠 잘 장소가 있는지 물었다. 그 농부는 승낙하면서도 한 사람만 잘 수 있는 방이 있다고 하였다.
중사가 피터 사병에게 소리쳤다, "너는 여기서 자, 우리는 길을 걷다가 나머지 인원들이 머물 장소를 찾아보겠다."
그들은 길을 걷다가 사창가를 발견하고 문을 노크하였다.
한 여인이 창밖으로 몸을 굽히고 뭘 원하는지 물었다.
중사가 머물 장소가 있느냐고 물었다.
그 여자가 몇 명이냐고 물었다, 그 말에 중사가 말했다, "피터를 빼고 39명입니다."
그러자 여자가 말했다, "음, 손가락에 윤활유를 바르고 들어오세요."
