A guy walks into a bar, goes up to the bartender, and orders a beer. He drinks half the beer and pours the other half on his hand.
The bartender watches him. So the guy orders another beer, and again he drinks half of it and pours the other half on his hand. Then he does it again with a third beer.
The bartenders watching him the whole time, and finally the bartender says. "Are you going to order another beer?"
The guy says, "Yeah."
"And are you going to pour half of it on your hand?"
The guy says, "Yeah."
"Well what the hell are you doing?" the bartender asks.
The guy says, "I want to make sure my date is as drunk as I am."
한 사내가 바 안으로 들어와 바텐더에게 가더니 맥주 한 잔을 주문하였다. 그는 그 맥주의 반을 마시고 나머지 반은 자기 손에 부었다.
바텐더가 그를 지켜보았다. 그러더니 그 사내는 맥주를 또 한 잔 시키고 다시 반을 마시고 나머지 반은 자기 손에 부었다, 그러고 나서 세 번째 맥주를 시켜 또 그렇게 하였다.
바텐더는 그를 처음부터 다 지켜보았다, 그리고 드디어 바텐더가 말했다, "당신 맥주 한 잔 더 주문할 겁니까?"
그 사내가 말했다, "예."
"그리고 맥주의 반은 당신 손에 부을 거요?"
그 사내가 말했다, "예."
"저, 도대체 왜 그렇게 하는 겁니까?" 하고 바텐더가 물었다.
그 사내가 말했다, "내 데이트 상대도 확실히 나만큼 취하게 하고 싶거든요."
